Nashville Pussy has always been one of those bands that rip your ass a new one live but is hit and miss when it comes to recorded output.  Recapturing the energy/sex/swagger combination of Blain Cartwright (vox, guitar), Ruyter Suys (lead guitar), Jeremy Thompson (drums) and new recruit Karen Cuda (bass) has always been an uphill battle but Get Some! does a damn fine job of keeping the pissed off, alcohol fueled, live vibe roaring.

The pinball machine sound effects at the beginning of Get Some! set the 70’s booze and pills fueled vibe that is Nashville Pussy.  If you’ve lived in a cave for the past few years or are just exiting the Amish faith, invite Lynyrd Skynyrd and AC/DC to a party, fill ‘em full of whiskey and crystal meth then turn them loose and you’ll have an idea of what Nashville Pussy is all about.  “Pussy Time” kicks your shins with a slightly polished, yet still raw as hell sound that will have you wondering what to reach for first, the volume knob or a bottle of Jack Daniels.

Get Some! contains everything you want in a Nashville Pussy release.  Tunes about the fine art of hooking up and rocking out (“Come On Come On”), drugging and fighting (“Going Down Swinging” and “Good Night For A Heart Attack”), and a couple of killer covers in “Nutbush City Limits” (Ike and Tina Turner) and “Snowblind” (Ace Frehley”) are but a few of the redneck metal gems contained on this release.  Not to mention a damn fine southern ditty, “Hate And Whiskey” plus the flat out coolest redneck anthem ever written, “Lazy White Boy.”

Bottom Line: Swing by the record shop then hit the liquor store and get ready to Get Some! with a Nashville Pussy release that comes about as close as you can get to a live Pussy show.
